In another severe setback for the application of immunotherapy in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, Cell Genenesys has announced the early termination of the Phase III VITAL-2 clinical trial comparing GVAX + docetaxel to docetaxel + prednisone.

ImClone Systems has announced the initiation of enrollment of patients with androgen-independent prostate cancer (AIPC) in a Phase II clinical trial with either IMC-A12 or IMC-1121B plus mitoxantrone and prednisone.
