Medical Economics lists 13 US centers of prostate cancer excellence

The “New” Prostate Cancer InfoLink does not normally make specific reference to individual clinical “centers of excellence” for prostate cancer. However, we are fully willing to pass on the statements of other independent third parties.

Stating that “we saw a need for a physician’s guide to the best in various specialties,” Medical Economics has just published a list of 13 institutions meeting a set of specific criteria that (in the opinion of the publisher) qualified them as US centers of excellence “that bring something extra to [prostate cancer], whether through research, patient care, community outreach — or all of these areas.”

The list of institutions meeting Medical Economics’ criteria (in alpabetical order) are:

  • Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California
  • Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio
  • Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina
  • Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, Baltimore, Maryland
  • Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois
  • The Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota
  • Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York
  • University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, San Francisco, California
  • University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, Iowa City, Iowa
  • University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas
  • University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Taxas
  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee
  • Washington University Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri

The article in Medical Economics provides additional information about prostate cancer related capabilities at four of these 13 institutions.
