A new online calculator, developed by a Canadian group, is now available to facilitate discussion between patients and their physicians about the value of a prostate biopsy, based on such data as PSA levels, DRE results, and other information. Use of this calculator requires the patient to have access to his free:total PSA ratio, which is not always requested by primary care physicians.
