A new article with the above title (by Andrew Zaleski) on the CNBC web site gives background on some of the wide range of new tests that are starting to help to tell us who really needs early treatment for prostate cancer and who doesn’t. This article may be a useful backgrounder of many readers … but it doesn’t address all of these new tests …

    They will need an RCT before they can claim that any of these tests will tell us who really needs early treatment for prostate cancer and who doesn’t.

    Otherwise they will likely repeat the PSA screening disaster.

    Do you ever have anything positive to say about anything?

    A phrase attributed to Sir Winston Churchill states, “You are the master of your unspoken words, but a slave to the words you have spoken.”

    I don’t know if Sir Winston actually ever said or wrote this, but it would seem to be apposite.
