Genitourinary Cancers Symposium: abstracts later today

For those who are interested, the abstracts of all the papers to be presented at this week’s upcoming Genitourinary Cancers Symposium are due to be released by the American Society for Clinical Oncology later today. To find them, go to this link, scroll down the page, and look for the color bock with the wording “Genitourinary Cancers Symposium 2017”. We expect the abstracts to be accessible late this afternoon. They are not available yet — as of about 12:30 pm Eastern time.

It is usual for more than half of all the presentations at this meeting to be focused on prostate cancer, and by late this evening we should have been able to work out whether there are going to be any really important new data presented at this meeting this year.

  1. Thanks for the link. This year’s posters weren’t posted yet but I found a great abstract from last year by Shipley that relates to the use of Casodex, which I just started.

  2. Thank you for providing this link.

One presentation that was noteworthy was the one by Dr. Klotz (from Urology Today reporting) who said after looking at two approaches to active surveillance, it would seem that AS should now be restricted to those with Gleason 3 + 3 disease, as Gleason 4 disease carries too much of a risk of metastases and death.
