“Prostate Cancer Today”, October 13, 2018 (in Norfolk, VA)

This is an initial announcement that Prostate Cancer International will be holding its second annual prostate cancer patient meeting (“Prostate Cancer Today: Living Well; Choosing Wisely”) on October 13, 2018, in Norfolk, Virginia, USA.

For additional details, please visit the meeting registration site. There will be no charge for attendance at this meeting, since we want it to be open to all interested patients and their caregivers — regardless of their financial situation. However, we would appreciate a donation of $25.00 per attendee to help us to cover costs from those patients who are able to afford this. You can make such a donation through the registration web site.

Featured speakers already include Dr. Paul Schellhammer and Dr. Snuffy Myers (who are both prostate cancer patients themselves, as well as being highly regarded physicians who have specialized in the management of prostate cancer for many years). Prof. Lenny Gomella, from Thomas Jefferson University and the Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia, has also kindly agreed to bring us all up to speed on genetics and genomics in the management of prostate cancer today.

Multiple workshops will cover everything from the roles of diet and exercise in “living well” with prostate cancer through to how best to handle the side effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT).

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Norfolk, VA, and for those who need overnight accommodation we have arranged a special low rate for the nights of October 12 and/or October 13.

  1. Is it expected that recordings will be made available?

  2. Dear Fred:

Since most of the session will be workshops rather that formal lectures, it would be difficult to make audiorecordings available, but we will look into it.
