PCaI extends low-cost room rate for conference in Virginia Beach

Prostate Cancer International (PCaI) has been able extend the hotel discount deadline to Monday, Oct 7th for its FREE patient conference in Virginia Beach on November 2.

As previously announced, we will be holding our next prostate cancer patient meeting (“Prostate Cancer Today: Living Well; Choosing Wisely”) on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in Virginia Beach, near Norfolk, Virginia, USA. We already have well over 100 enrollees for this meeting and we look forward to being able to host as many as 300 or so. Sign up soon if you are interested!

For additional details, including the full meeting agenda, please visit the meeting registration site. As usual, there will be no charge for attendance at this meeting (which includes free breakfast and free lunch on the day), since we want it to be open to all interested patients and their caregivers — regardless of their financial situation. However, we would appreciate a donation of $25.00 per attendee to help us to cover costs from those patients who are able to afford this. You can make such a donation through the registration web site.

Featured speakers already include Dr. Judd Moul (a well-known urologic oncologist from Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC) and Dr. Ken Pienta (a medical oncologist specializing in prostate cancer from Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, MD). Dr. Paul Schellhammer — himself both a prostate cancer patient and a former president of the American Urological Association — will also be participating. Numerous other physicians, nurses, and other experts will be involved in workshop sessions.

Multiple workshops will cover everything from the ways new tests are affecting the diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer, the evolving role of active surveillance in the management of lower-risk forms of prostate cancer, through to the ways new drugs and drugs in clinical trials are impacting the treatment of high-risk and advanced forms of prostate cancer.

The meeting will be held at the Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, VA, and for those who need overnight accommodation we have arranged a special low rate for the nights of November 1 and/or November 2.

  1. Although I am unable to attend, I am very interested in the subject matter

  2. Unfortunately I cannot attend in person. Is there any possibility of making the sessions available online?

  3. We regret that the costs and the time commitments required to make all sessions available on line are high, and we simply do not have the resources available to do this.
