It is not our goal to provide you with an exhaustive list of other prostate cancer web sites. However, other sites offer services and topics of discussion that we may touch on but not address in detail.

The sites and services listed below have been divided into a series of major categories. However, many of these organizations provide additional services beyond those specified in their primary mission.

Prostate Cancer Education and Support Organizations

  • US Too International is the single largest US-based prostate cancer support organization, with chapters in every state. It also has affiliates outside the USA.
  • Man to Man is the prostate cancer support group operation of the American Cancer Society.
  • Malecare is a cancer support organization focused on offering help and assistance to gay men with prostate cancer and other cancers.
  • Prostate Cancer International is the parent organization of The “New” Prostate Cancer InfoLink.
  • The Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN)  is focused on prostate health education and awareness among the men at highest risk for prostate cancer in the United States: African Americans.
  • The Prostate Net is particularly intended to provide education and information for those impacted by health disparities — be they based on insufficient information, lack of access to care, socio-economics or race/ethnicity.
  • The Prostate Cancer Research Institute (PCRI) is dedicated to educating patients and their families about prostate cancer.
  • The Prostate Cconditions Education Council is dedicated to expanding awareness and education about prostate cancer and other prostatic disorders; each September it coordinates and organizes activities across the USA to support Prostate Cancer Awareness Week.
  • Ed Randall’s Fans for the Cure focuses on increasing the public’s awareness of prostate cancer and educating the American people about cutting edge techniques in treatment, prevention and detection.

National Prostate Cancer Advocacy Organizations

  • The National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalitions seeks to influence research into and treatment of prostate cancer at a state by state level.
  • The Men’s Health Network is another Washington-based coalition focused on men’s health issues, including the development of a Office of Men’s Health at the US Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Patient Advocates for Advanced Cancer Treatments (PAACT) is one of the original and longest-surviving prostate cancer information and advocacy organizations in North America.
  • PCPC3 — the patient-centered prostate cancer collaborative coalition — is a group of independent, not-for-profit, patient-centric organizations whose primary goals include the education and support of men diagnosed with prostate cancer, their family members and care-givers, and all men at risk for prostate cancer..
  • Women Against Prostate Cancer is a Washington-based advocacy organization working to unite the voices and provide support for the millions of women affected by prostate cancer, and their families.
  • ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer (formerly the National Prostate Cancer Coalition) was the first national organization focused on the development and improvement of national policies related to prostate cancer research and treatment.

Independent Prostate Cancer-Specific Research Funding Organizations

  • The Prostate Cancer Foundation is the world’s foremost private charity dedicated to funding advances in prostate cancer research, and was founded by “junk bond king” Michael Milken after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the 1990s.

Three Web Sites for Women

  • HisProstateCancer.com is a much needed and evolving web site primarily for all the wives and partners of men diagnosed and living with prostate cancer.
  • A Prostate Cancer Forum for Ladies Only is a long-standing prostate cancer discussion site for wives, other female partners, and daughters or grandaughters of men with prostate cancer.
  • Women Against Prostate Cancer is a Washington-based advocacy organization working to unite the voices and provide support for the millions of women affected by prostate cancer, and their families.

Mailing Lists

  • The Prostate Problems Mailing List is the earliest and longest lasting “general” mail list for prostate cancer patients and their families with about 1,300 members at any one time.
  • Details about other, specialty mailing lists can be found on the Prostate Pointers web site (which is an element of the Us TOO International support network).

Prostate Cancer Video Educational Resources

  • ProstateVideos.com is the world’s only web service dedicated to providing prostate cancer education for patients and their families exclusively through video materials; samples of the videos found on the ProstateVideos.com site can be found here on The “New” Prostate Cancer InfoLink.

Governmental and Non-Governmental Cancer Organizations With Prostate Cancer-Specific Initiatives

  • The Prostate Cancer Research Program is an initiative of the Department of Defense’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program, and the single largest source of annual funding for prostate cancer-specific research.
  • The National Cancer Institute offers a wide variety of research and educational initiatives related to prostate cancer.
  • The American Cancer Society also offers many educational, informational, and research-related services that impact prostate cancer.
  • The Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) is a major US Department of Defence medical research center focused on integrating basic science and clinical research to develop promising detection techniques and treatments for prostate disease, including prostate cancer.
