The 2011 Summit to End Prostate Cancer In Washington, DC

Prostate Cancer International and other members of the Prostate Cancer Roundtable are planning to attend and support the ZERO Summit Against Prostate Cancer in Washington, DC, on September 20 to 22 this year, and we encourage all prostate cancer patients, family members, advocates, and others to try and join us in making this a major annual advocacy event.

The ability to demonstrate our solidarity to Congress in support of research funding for prostate cancer through the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program and funding of the research initiatives of the National Cancer Institute, as well as other legislative priorities, is a critical component to improvements in the diagnosis and management of prostate cancer.

Men need to come together behind such initiatives in the US just as women have come together behind the  efforts to eliminate breast cancer. This is your opportunity to show your commitment toward the elimination of prostate cancer as a significant cause of health concern for men in America and around the world. ZERO is able to offer “scholarships” for some men to attend this meeting who might not otherwise be able to do so.
